Great Barton/Thurston: Cyclist killed at Cattishall level crossing was 41-year-old from Thurston

Police this morning have confirmed that a 41-year-old man from Thurston was killed yesterday morning at the Cattishall level crossing in Great Barton.

The cyclist’s death is not being treated as suspicious, but the British Transport Police are not ruling out the possibility it was a tragic accident.

Paramedics attended the incident just after 9am, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.

Investigators are now preparing a file for the coroner.

Ipswich Hospital bosses should be proud of the services they provide, a health watchdog’s chief inspector said as he gave the trust glowing feedback in a new report.

Oliver Sheppard, 28, of Park Road in Clacton, was sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on January 16 after pleading guilty there on January 8.

One man was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
