Great Cornard: Man arrested after reports children had been approached in street

A 64-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested by police following a number of incidents of children being approached in Great Cornard.

Police received three reports on Thursday January 31 of children being approached by a man between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

Police have arrested a man from the Sudbury area on suspicion of common assault. He has been taken to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he awaits questioning.

As thousands of fundraisers get underway for Red Nose Day today, Comic Relief has unveiled a pot of £60,000 to help benefit good causes in Suffolk and north Essex this year.
