Archant

Ever fancied riding shotgun beside the driver on an express train in East Anglia? Ever dreamed of getting behind the controls of a modern electric train? Well now’s your chance (sort of) while raising money for Comic Relief.

Greater Anglia is offering rail enthusiasts the chance to bid for a day to remember – a cab ride from the station of their choice to Liverpool Street followed by a session on the company’s train simulator at Stratford and a tour of its operations centre at Romford.

To take part in the auction visit @greateranglia on Twitter and make a bid. Bids can be made publicly or privately (by tweeting #bid to @greateranglia – they will then follow you so that a private bid can be made via a direct message). The highest bidder will be announced on Red Nose day – Friday – with the special day on April 5.

Richard Dean from Greater Anglia said: “This is a great opportunity for a train enthusiast to indulge in their dreams of driving a train.”
