The body of a woman has been found in a river in Hadleigh.

Police were called at around 11.15am today by a member of the public who had found the body in the water near Tinker’s Lane.

It is believed the body found was of a woman in her 80s reported missing to police earlier today.

A spokesman for Suffolk Constabulary said: “Officers attended with the fire service and the body was recovered from the water.

“The death is not believed to be suspicious.

“The coroner will be informed and an inquest will open in due course.”
