Chief Constable Douglas Paxton and Police and Crime Commissioner Tim Passmore will set up base in a mobile police station in the town on Tuesday, where they will meet with members of the public to discuss issues.

Officers from the local safer neighbourhood team, crime reduction officers and representatives from Suffolk Safekey, will also attend the event, in the Morrisons supermarket car park on Calais Street, from 12 noon to 5pm. The Chief and PCC will be there from 1pm to 4pm.

Mr Paxton said: “This is the final event in the ‘on tour’ calendar this year. All of our visits have gone extremely well, with lots of positive feedback coming from the people we have spoken with.

“It has also been a great opportunity to listen to local concerns and issues from communities right across the county, so I am looking forward to hearing from the people of Hadleigh.”

Members of the public will also be able to take away a new Home Safety Guide which has been produced by the Constabulary and supported by the PCC.

Mr Passmore said: “Having direct contact with the people of Suffolk that I represent is extremely important to me.

“I make myself available to anyone who needs to speak to me through one-to-one surgeries or via e-mail and on the phone, but it is equally important to have these opportunities for people to just turn up and have a conversation with us.

“I do hope people will accept this invite to come and find out more about policing. Douglas and I will be pleased to discuss any matter that arises.

“Public engagement is a key responsibility for every PCC and covering such a large geographical area, this is quite a challenge so we have set up meetings and roadshows in each district and borough.”
