Halesworth: Four people trapped in lift

FIREFIGHTERS have helped release four people who had become trapped in a lift at a residential home.

The incident happened at the home in London Road, Halesworth, at just after 3pm.

One crew from the town’s fire station went to the scene to assist the stranded quartet.

A fire service spokesman said the group had been released by 3.37pm and firefighters returned to their base a few minutes later.

The Orwell Bridge has reopened this morning after 80mph winds battered Suffolk and brought its closure.
