A 35-year-old woman failed a breath test after a road traffic collision in Halesworth.

Emergency services were called to an incident on Blythe Road Industrial Estate at around 12.15am this morning

One appliance from Halesworth, one from Bungay and the rescue pump from Leiston were called out.

The car, a blue Seat Ibiza, crashed into a lamp post.

Police said the lamp post was leaning over, away from the road, and the Highways Agency and Suffolk County Council had been informed.

Fire crews removed the roof of the vehicle to release one casualty, a woman aged 35.

The crews were back at base by 1.52am.

The driver was taken to Norwich and Norfolk University Hospital for her injuries. Shefailed a breath test at the scene and police will await the result of a subsequent blood test.
