Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault at Halstead, which left a man with a broken jaw.

The incident happened in High Street, near a kebab shop, between 12.30am–12.45am on Saturday May 10.

The 20-year-old victim, who is from Halstead, was knocked unconscious in the attack and cannot remember what happened. But detectives believe that he was assaulted by up to three men.

Detective Sergeant Becky Young, of Braintree CID, who is leading the investigation, said: “This young man had his jaw broken in three places. He has had surgery to have his jaw plated together and as a result of these injuries we have not yet been able to talk to him.

“We believe that up to three men were involved in the incident and we want to hear from anyone who was in the High Street, near Roses kebab shop, at the time and saw what happened.”

Anyone with information should contact DS Young or her team at Braintree on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
