Halstead: Road closed following serious accident and car fire

Police closed a road in Halstead this evening following a serious accident.

The incident involving two cars happened on the A1124 Colchester Road, which had to be closed in both directions between the Fenn Road and Station Road junctions.

According to Essex Police, one of the vehicles was on fire. However, a spokesman confirmed that all occupants managed to escape from the vehicles without serious injury.

A lorry driver has admitted dangerous driving after a steam engine on the back of his truck crashed into a bus, seriously injuring six people.

The closure of Ranelagh Road, Ipswich, between the train station and Ancaster Road, started last week, writes David Kindred.

Police investigating a rape in Ipswich town centre last weekend have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to in connection to the incident.
