Stolen TV and Sky box carried through Harwich

BURGLARS carried a 42in television and other electrical items for more than 200 yards along busy roads in Harwich.

Two men are believed to have carried the TV, a Sky box and a laptop in the area of Main Road, Barrack Lane, Beacon Hill Avenue, Park Road and may have used the Mayor’s Gardens before the items were abandoned in an alleyway between Park Road and Grafton Road.

The incident happened on Monday evening and a member of the public found the items and alerted the police.

Two men were arrested and a burglary was later discovered at a property in Beacon Hill Avenue.

It is thought that intruders broke into the property between 4.30pm and 7pm.

Anyone who saw a large flat screen TV and other items being carried through the town should contact DS Tim Coyles or his colleagues at Clacton CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Two men aged 28 and 37, and both from Harwich, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and were still in custody this evening.
