In this version of the popular panto annual a Suffolk amateur dramatics group has opted to have a man top the bill.

Cindefella, Haughley Amateur Theatrical Society’s latest show, will be performed to audiences next week.

The 20-strong cast and crew have been busy practicing their lines and remembering their cues.

Lindsey Philpot, from the group, said: “It’s the standard Cinderella story, we have the Ugly Sisters, the Prince - but with a slightly modern twist. It’s been hard work but great fun with our small cast. We are all looking forward to putting on the shows.”

She said it was key to have good numbers see the shows as the only income the group receives is from its productions and fundraising events.

The shows will be performed at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on February 21 and 22 in the village hall.
