An affray which involved one man using a baseball bat took place in Haverhill yesterday evening

Police are appealing for witnesses after the altercation between a man in a car and two pedestrians. The incident occurred at around 6pm on Tuesday, February 11 in Buckingham Road.

A blue Mini was seen to stop in the road and the driver had a verbal altercation with two pedestrians.

One of the pedestrians then pushed the driver through the car window and the driver got out of the car and attacked the men with a baseball bat.

As one of the pedestrians was lying on the ground, the other one took the car keys and ran off. The driver pursued him and later returned with the keys and drove off.

Police were later called to a nearby house to reports of two men with injuries, one with wounds to the head, the other with some bruising to the arm.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact PC Jason Thomas at Haverhill Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
