A man has been arrested following an allegation of sexual assault on a teenager.


The attack happened when a 19-year-old woman had been walking along Crowland Road between 3am-4am on Sunday.

The woman had been returning home after a night out in the town centre with friends when she was approached by a man who assaulted her.

It is now thought that she may have been sexually assaulted or raped.

On Sunday evening, a 31-year-old man was arrested at his home address in the Haverhill area on suspicion of rape and is now being questioned by detectives at the police investigation centre in Bury St Edmunds.
