Jerry Monerville

Jerry Monerville

Suffolk Police are appealing for help to trace a Hollesley Bay prisoner who failed to return following a period of home leave.

Jerry Monerville, 49, was serving a eight-year sentence for robbery.

He was given leave to go to an address in London on Friday and was due to return to the prison by 3.30pm yesterday.

However, he failed to show up and was reported as missing to police.

Overnight police have carried out several inquiries to try and trace him but officers are now appealing for help to locate him.

Monerville, who is described as white and thin with brown eyes and black hair, has connections to Tower Hamlets in London and Herne Bay in Kent.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen him or anyone with information about where he is now to contact officers. You should not approach him or take any further action.

If you can help please contact Suffolk police or your nearest police station using the national police number 101.

  • I believe there is an error in this report, it says a prisoner (someone locked up for crimes against society) was on home leave (a treat granted to someone who serves society)!
