Icklingham: hundreds of homes in west Suffolk village were left without power following fault

Power has been restored to hundreds of homes in Icklingham following an overhead cable fault this afternoon.

UK power Networks engineers were sent to the scene, in Icklingham, when the problem was first reported at about 3.55pm – the incident affected 438 people.

Within an hour 76 had their power restored and by about 10pm yesterday, there were 11 people still without power.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “We understand how frustrating it can be to be without power and would like to thank customers for their patience while we fix the problem.”
