Police are searching for a black Volkswagen Golf with a smashed windscreen after the vehicle was involved in a fail-to-stop collision with a motorcycle in Ipswich on Friday evening.

The collision happened in Nacton Road, at the junction with Bishops Hill, at about 9pm and the rider of the motorcycle was left with serious leg injuries.

Officers believe the Golf was involved in the collision but the driver failed to stop at the scene.

The road is currently closed while recovery and investigation work takes place. The air ambulance has also been called.
