FIREFIGHTERS were scrambled to a house fire in Ipswich on Thursday afternoon.

Two crews from Princes Street were mobilised to the blaze at a property in Shafto Road just after 1.15pm today.

On arrival they discovered there was a fire in a cooker which had already been extinguished.

The crews made sure there were no hot spots and no likelihood of the fire re-igniting before leaving the scene.

Both crews were back at their station by 2.20pm.
