Firefighters extinguished a flat fire in Geneva Road, Ipswich

Fire crews have tackled a fire in an Ipswich flat this afternoon with people trapped inside.

Two crews from Princess Street were called to the Geneva Road around 2.12pm and on arrival found there to be people inside the flat.

Another fire engine was sent from Ipswich East. Using two hose reels and four breathing apparatus as well as one covering jet and a thermal imaging camera the fire was extinguished by 2.38pm with all the people accounted for.
