POLICE scrambled their helicopter over Ipswich earlier after items of women’s clothing were found in a town street.

A member of the public found the clothing in Bobbits Lane before raising the alarm with police.

Officers went out on foot patrol before a helicopter was mobilised amid concerns for the person’s safety.

Police - whose air search proved fruitless - are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to call 101.
