Man assaulted in communal hallway in Ipswich

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Ipswich.

The incident happened in Bell Close at approximately 8.15pm on Tuesday, January 28.

The male victim entered a communal flat hallway. A man entered behind him and began shouting at him before assaulting him. The victim ran out of the hallway and into the street, followed by the offender. A black man was seen standing outside the building, who is believed to have witnessed the incident. The offender then ran away.

The offender is described as a white man, mid-thirties to forties in age, of a medium build, approximately six foot tall and was wearing a black hooded top and dark coloured jeans.

Police are keen to speak with the black man seen standing outside around the time or anyone with information relating to this crime. Calls should be made to PC Kim Butler from Ipswich on 101 quoting IW/14/322 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
