More than £3,000 has been raised for charity just a week after the Rudolph Run launched in Ipswich.

Dozens of volunteers going door to door through the streets of the town have generated £3,131 for the annual appeal, organised by the Ipswich Round Table.

The campaign, in its 43rd year, raised £11,000 last year and it is hoped even more cash is collected this month for charities Suffolk Family Carers and CLIC Sargent.

It started on December 2 and is set to finish on Friday next week.

Tonight it will start at the Belstead Arms pub in Radcliffe Drive at 6.30pm. Children aged below 12 can enter a competition by taking a picture of Rudolph at one of the starting points. The photos can be submitted via a free mobile phone app, Rudolph 2013. For more, see www.ipswichroundtable.co.uk.
