Travellers at Gippeswyk Park in Ipswich

Ipswich town leaders have pledged to take action after a group of travellers set up camp in an Ipswich park.

A number of caravans moved on to Gippeswyk Park, in south west Ipswich, at the end of last week.

It is understood the group took up residence on Friday and Ipswich Borough Council have said they are aware of the issue.

A spokesman for the council said: “The borough is liaising with the relevant teams and will take appropriate action when necessary.”

Councillors will meet tomorrow to dicuss people’s feedback about traffic management and diversions.

The roadblock on the A12 has been lifted and a woman in a critical condition has been taken to hospital.

Three reported firearms incidents in just over a week in the same area of Colchester have prompted a call for vigilance from police.

A major new campaign to counter the negative effects of council funding cutbacks and encourage Sudbury residents to take a pride in the town is to be officially launched this weekend.

A man will appear in court this March in connection with a fatal car crash.

Villagers have spoken with a “conclusive voice” over the need for four communities to have a bypass built if Sizewell C is given the go-ahead.

From the fluttering of wings to the industrious turn of steam engine pistons, our iWitness members captured the theme of movement in a number of ways.
