Ipswich town leaders have pledged to take action after a group of travellers set up camp in an Ipswich park.

A number of caravans moved on to Gippeswyk Park, in south west Ipswich, at the end of last week.

It is understood the group took up residence on Friday and Ipswich Borough Council have said they are aware of the issue.

A spokesman for the council said: “The borough is liaising with the relevant teams and will take appropriate action when necessary.”

Firefighters are currently at the scene of a fire in a row of terraced houses in Bury St Edmunds.

Police in Essex have pleaded with a missing teenager from Frinton to get in touch and “let us know you are OK”.

Creeting St Mary Church of England Primary School has maintained its ‘Good’ Ofsted rating following its latest inspection this month,

Parking bays meant to help disabled people are being “abused” in a west Suffolk town centre, with blue badge holders forced to park elsewhere.

In 2008, BT announced the disconnection of over 700 red phone boxes around East Anglia. Several councils ‘adopted’ the boxes to turn them into something wonderful for the community. Here are just some of the uses in Suffolk.
