Setting aside his own battle with cancer, brave Mason Fountain keeps smiling, determined to help other children like him.

The seven-year-old has just completed a gruelling 20 months of chemotherapy after receiving his devastating diagnosis in April 2010.

Since his treatment began, the inspiring youngster has raised thousands for various charities.

But today marks the start of a new fundraising drive for Mason and his dedicated family, as they put the finishing touches to Masons Magic, his very own charity.

Since his diagnosis, Mason has been lucky enough to meet his idols, N-Dubz, take a ride in a Lamborghini supercar and visit Disneyland Paris - all wishes he has had granted by kind-hearted charities.

But, when Mason turned to his mum Shelley Fountain and told her he wanted to grant other children their wishes, the idea for Mason’s Magic was born.

Beaming with pride Shelley said she has been overwhelmed by the support they have received in the first few days.

The Gusford Primary School pupils has become a Twitter sensation, notching up more than 5,200 followers since joining the social networking site last Tuesday.

Former Ipswich Town skipper Matt Holland, former loan ITFC goalkeeper David Stockdale - who has donated tickets to a game, and some of his idols at the Super Blues are already following him.

Counting Callum Best, Corrie actress Kym Marsh, TOWIE stars Kirk and Mick Norcross, weather girl Clare Nasir, Peter Andre, Katie Price, and Ricky Gervais among his celebrity followers, the word about Masons Magic is spreading far and wide.

“I just can’t believe it,” said Shelley. “I never thought it would take off this quickly.

“He is so excited, my phone hasn’t stopped buzzing, it has reduced me to tears several times.”

Later next month the final details of the charity will be ironed out at a meeting of the committee and Mason’s Magic will be officially launched.

The charity will be established under the umbrella of Brain Tumour UK, the leading organisation providing support, funding research and raising awareness for everyone affected by brain tumours.

For Mason the end of his chemotherapy is just the start of the next stage of his disease.

In a couple of weeks the youngster and his family will get the results of a much-awaited scan to check the progress of his tumour.

The last scan revealed for the first time the tumour had stopped growing and was showing signs of shrinking. Shelley added: “Once we have the scan results we will know what is going to happen next.

“Mason is doing really well, he is feeling good in himself. I don’t want him to face any more chemo so we will see, we have all got our fingers crossed.”
