Charges over robbery

Police in Ipswich have arrested a man in relation to three robberies in the town.


The 32-year-old, of no fixed above, was arrested in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of robbery, which related to an incident in Wherstead Road on March 14, when a woman was injured.

This afternoon he was charged with two further counts of robbery.

One of these relates to a robbery at a shop in Clapgate Lane, Ipswich, which happened at about 8pm on Saturday.

The other incident is in connection with a personal robbery which happened in Grove Lane at about 6pm last night.

He is also being questioned in relation to one count of possession of a Class A drug and a count of theft, which is in connection with an incident in Harwich on March 8.

He is currently being held at the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre
