A 36-year-old Ipswich man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after firearms officers were called to reports of a house fire on Clapgate Lane.

The man, who was in the property at the time, was also alleged to have been throwing furniture and electrical items out of the building when officers were called at 10.50pm yesterday (Monday).
