Marley Wallace, of Woodbridge Road, was arrested on Thursday following the third armed robbery incident in Ipswich in 24 hours and he has now been charged with two counts of robbery and one of attempted robbery.

Wallace has been detained in custody and is due to appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates Court this morning.

The charges relate to two incidents on Wednesday – one at a shop in Freehold Road around 4pm and the other at a store in Foxhall Road at around 5.50pm - and a further incident on Thursday at the Co-op store in Clapgate Lane around 4.20pm.

A second man – a 27-year-old from Ipswich - arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the commission of robbery has now been bailed to return to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on June 27, while further enquiries are carried out.
