OLYMPIC silver medallist Steve Cram will provide a unique insight into the world of the professional athlete and inspire the next generation with a talk at University Campus Suffolk (UCS) on Thursday.
‘In Conversation with Steve Cram’ will offer a special opportunity to hear the running legend, who commentated for the BBC during the London 2012 Games, explain what it takes to become a champion.
The former mile, 1500m and 2000m world record holder will swap tales of sporting experiences with host Professor Bill Tancred, a former double Olympian himself.
Both former Great British athletes won consecutive medals at the Commonwealth Games, with Professor Tancred the proud owner of discus silver and bronze medals and Cram claiming three gold medals.
The motivational talk, being held at the Waterfront Building from 3.30-4.45pm, will be attended by UCS students, staff and visitors from various schools across Suffolk.
Cram is visiting the UCS Ipswich Campus as part of his role as Clydesdale Bank ambassador.
