Police were called this afternoon by members of the public who reported a man standing on the edge of the bridge.

Officers were sent to the scene and the westbound carriageway of the bridge was closed. The man has since voluntarily come down from the ledge.

There was queueing traffic on the A14 in both directions between J56 Wherstead interchange and J57 Nacton interchange due to the closure.
