Three people are on bail after police found two small cannabis factories within 200 yards of each other on a housing estate.
It is understood the discovery of the Class B drug at one of the properties in Chantry, Ipswich, led officers to the second premises.
Acting on information they had received police went to a property in Lakeside Close at around 1.15pm on Monday.
When they arrived they are understood to have discovered cannabis plants and hydroponic equipment in a garage.
Two women and a man were arrested in connection with the find.
Around six police cars were seen by residents outside the property while investigations continued.
As a result of the police officers’ enquiries they linked the Lakeside Close premises to a property in nearby Lakeside Road.
When officers went the short distance to the house in Lakeside Road a similar size set up involving the alleged production of cannabis was discovered.
It is understood two police vans remained outside the property for several hours during Monday afternoon.
A total of 13 large cannabis plants and 11 smaller ones are said to have been found at the two properties.
Natalie Doughty, a spokeswoman for Ipswich police, said: “I can confirm three people were arrested on suspicion of drug offences in relation to the incidents.”
The suspects – a 29-year-old woman, a 31-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, all from Ipswich – were taken to the police investigation centre at Suffolk Constabulary’s Martlesham police headquarters.
After being questioned about the cultivation of a Class B drug they were released on police bail.
They must report back to the police investigation centre on September 30.
