Ipswich Town striker Frank Nouble has been fined and had six penalty points put on his driving licence after appearing in court on a traffic matter.

The 22-year-old, who is set to make his debut for Coventry City tonight against Gillingham after being loaned out to the League One club earlier this week, appeared in person before Southend Magistrates Court.

Nouble, of Key Street, Ipswich, pleaded guilty to failing to provide information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required.

The case arose out of an incident in Chigwell, Essex, on November 27 last year.

The information relating to the driver was required after an Audi registered to Nouble was said to have been guilty of a traffic offence.

Nouble was fined £575 and ordered to pay £58 to the victims’ fund.

He was also told he must pay £90 towards the prosecution costs.

Earlier this week he joined Coventry on loan until January 4 in a deal that beat the transfer deadline by minutes.

The paperwork was signed by the Town striker and the two clubs just before Monday’s 11pm cut-off point after the Sky Blues made a late approach for the former Chelsea and West Ham man.

Nouble, who made his 60th appearance for Town as a second-half substitute in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Derby, has fallen down the pecking order in Mick McCarthy’s striking options following the arrival of Conor Sammon on a season-long loan from Derby.
