Ipswich: Train services to Cambridge disrupted

10:08 30 August 2014

Travellers were being warned of potential disruption on the Ipswich to Cambridge rail route today – and services could be cancelled at short notice.

The 9.44am Cambridge to Ipswich service – due at 11.02am – has already been cancelled.

A rail replacement bus service, operated by Youngs Coaches, will run instead of the train, but with an extended journey time to Ipswich.

An Abellio Greater Anglia spokesman said the disruption was due to a train fault that could not be fixed by the technician in time for the service to run.

Further train services between Ipswich and Cambridge may be cancelled at short notice while the fault is rectified.
