TV presenter, gardener and writer Alan Titchmarsh is in Suffolk on Friday to sign copies of his new novel, Bring Me Home.

Alan will be at Waitrose, Futura Park, Ransomes Way in Ipswich between noon and 1pm.

He is also the new gardening ambassador for Waitrose, a role he relishes. “My life’s work is trying to make popular, understandable and not shrouded in mystery.

He said gardening was “90 per cent common sense” and that this was a chance to spread the word on broader stage.

Bring Me Home is, says Alan, “a romantic mystery. “it’s about a chap called Charlie Stuart who inherits a castle where something dreadful happened but we don’t know what. He’s got to go and break it to his children that their lives are about to be shattered by the events which have just occurred.”
