A WOMAN was taken to hospital this afternoon following a three-car collision in Ipswich.

Ambulances were called to the accident close to the Foxhall Road roundabout in Bixley Road just before 1:30pm. A total of four ambulances and a rapid-responder unit attended the scene along with police.

The ambulance service reported that a female casualty was taken to Ipswich Hospital with chest injuries but there is currently no more information about any of the other people involved.

The police stated that three cars were involved: a black Renault Espace, a blue Toyota Yaris and a Honda Jazz.

The road was partially blocked and police are currently working to clear it.
