Police are appealing for information about a burglary in Jaywick

A woman tackled a burglar in Jaywick after she found him in her home.

The woman in her 60s returned home to Fern Way at about 11.30am on April 7 to find her front door open.

As she went inside a man ran out of her bedroom holding some property.

She tried to stop him running away and pushed him. She was pushed back and knocked to the floor and the man ran off in the direction of Meadow Way. The woman was shaken but uninjured.

The suspect had his face covered and wore a black coat and light blue jeans.

A wireless router and ladies perfume gift set were stolen.

Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area or has any other information is asked to contact Dc Derek Lee at Clacton police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
