DETECTIVES are investigating following an early morning incident in which a man put a knife through the door of a home.
Occupiers of a property in Wolseley Avenue, Jaywick, were awoken by their door being kicked this morning.
They went downstairs to find two men shouting threats from the other side of the closed door. One of the men then put a knife through the door before they made off in an open backed, pick up style, transit van.
No one was hurt but the occupiers were understood to have been shocked, with no idea why it happened.
Dc Dan Jeffries, from Essex Police, said: “Police have made house to house enquiries this morning but we want to hear from anyone who was in the area just before 3am or knows the current location of the open backed transit.”
The men are described as having local accents, but were not seen by the victims.
Anyone who can help is urged to contact the serious crime team at Clacton on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
