An alcoholic who has breached his anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) more than 30 times has been jailed for three years by a judge who described him as a “persistent drunken nuisance”.
Sentencing Daniel Palmer at Ipswich Crown Court today (Friday, December 22) Recorder Rex Bryan warned him that if he carried on the way he was he would end up drinking himself to death.
Palmer, 35, of Bobby Road, Bury St Edmunds, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Bury St Edmunds on November 17 and breaching an Asbo on December 8 last year.
The court heard that Palmer, who has a criminal record containing more than 130 offences, had been making a nuisance of himself while he was drunk in Bury St Edmunds and was told by a passer by to get out of the road before he killed himself or someone else.
Palmer had responded by pretending he had a gun and a knife and threatening the man.
The court heard the other offence related to Palmer making a nuisance of himself in the A&E department of West Suffolk hospital while he was drunk.
