Organisers of the four-day music festival – taking place at Henham Park, near Southwold, from July 13 to 16 – have given details of more star-studded performers and attractions.

These include retro-soul and gospel singer-songwriter Leon Bridges, psychedelic Scouse indie hit makers The Coral, Young Love singers Mystery Jets, and, making their Latitude debut, The Jesus and Mary Chain, playing their influential album Psychocandy alongside the recently released Damage and Joy.

Festival-goers – more than 30,000 are expected to attend the family-friendly weekend – will also see the previously announced headliners, Brit Award winners The 1975 and folk rock band Mumford and Sons, and American group Fleet Foxes, who will close the event on Sunday night with their first British performance in five years.

Katherine Jenkins will make her debut at the festival with a lakeside performance on Sunday, July 16.

She officially became the most successful artist in UK Classical chart history when her latest album Celebration became her 12th UK Classical No 1 album in 12 years, during which she has sold eight million albums.

Since starting her career at the age of 23, she has performed in prestigious venues all over the world – and last year performed, by request, at the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations at Windsor Castle.

Previous Latitude headliner Two Door Cinema Club have been announced as special guests for 2017. Organisers of the event announced the Irish rockers’ return on social media.

The acclaimed trio will perform in the Obelisk Arena with a set filled with their biggest hits, including What You Know, Something Good Can Work and Bad Decisions.

Two Door Cinema Club said: “We are so excited to be coming to Latitude as special guests in July.

“The festival has such a beautiful vibe and is a great celebration of art which we can’t wait to be a part of this summer.”

Melvin Benn, founder of Latitude, said the line up this year made the event “unmissable”.

“Following the incredible success of our eleventh edition last year, we had set the bar high for this year’s festival,” he said.
