TWO Suffolk youngsters have completed a sponsored bike ride to help fund conservation work in South Africa.

Sammy Hanys and James Dowers, both sixth-form students at Kesgrave High School, raised £300 by cycling from Ipswich to Felixstowe via Woodbridge.

They need to rake in £1,900 to help finance a trip to South Africa next summer, in which they will carry out conservation work at Shamwari Game Reserve.

Despite stopping for fish and chips in Felixstowe and getting lost near Kirton Creek, Sammy and James managed to complete the ride in a time of four and a half hours.
