Police are monitoring a tree in west Suffolk following reports that it is in danger of falling across a main road.

The tree is beside the A1101 in Lackford between the Old Bury Road junction and the Cavenham turn off.

A police spokesman said the road would remain open until the tree was assessed.

Police have launched an investigation into a string of 26 burglaries in the last week across west Suffolk in which cash, jewellery and electrical items have been stolen.
