The bodies of the four aircrew killed in the Pave Hawk helictoper crash on the north Norfolk coast were set to be flown back to the US yesterday.

Captains Sean Ruane and Christopher Stover, Technical Sergeant Dale Mathews and Staff Sergeant Afton Ponce will be flown into Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, a spokeswoman for RAF Lakenheath confirmed on Sunday.

The four aircrew died on Tuesday after the helicopter they were flying crashed during a training mission at Cley.

The spokeswoman said the bodies would be flown out of RAF Mildenhall today before official ceremonies are held in the US, as per the wishes of the victims’ families.
