Alexis Taylor performs on the main stage with Hot Chip at last year's Latitude festival

Organisers of Suffolk’s biggest music festival have announced this year’s Sunday afternoon special guest performance.

Atomic Bomb! Who is William Onyeabor? will celebrate the music of West African synth pioneer William Onyeabor.

The Atomic Bomb! band features a musical collective put together by the Luaka Bop project, founded by David Byrne of Talking Heads.

The one-off line-up includes Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip, Beastie Boys collaborator Money Mark, Pat Mahoney of LCD Soundsystem, Scritti Politti, Mahotella Queens and multi-instrumentalist Sinkane.

Other new acts include Slow Club, The Phantom Band, Rag N Bone Man and The People The Poet.

  • Great stuff.. Ignore the naysayers. William Onyeabor used to make fantastic 70's west african funk. 30 years ahead of his time... The picture shows hot chip front man, although he does look like timmy mallet i will admit

  • The strange thing is, I was a club DJ playing funk back in the late 1970s and I've been a funk lover all my life, yet I've never heard of most of the names there. And the two I **HAVE** heard of, I certainly wouldn't call funkers.
