Lavenham’s creative community opened its doors to hundreds of visitors keen to browse the art works on show at a three-day art festival. They were able to visit 11 open studios to meet artists and view their work.

Meanwhile Market Place became a creative hub with artists including internationally renowned Kate Denton demonstrating their skills.

Kate’s life-size sculpture of two Shetland ponies was a big attraction, while local artist Peter Partington’s birds of prey drawings also proved popular.

Budding young painters had a chance to create a mural of Lavenham under the watchful eye of artists Vernon Lever and Dave Gilbert.

The village’s rich textile heritage was celebrated with demonstrations by spinners, weavers and tapestry makers.
