Layer Marney: Woman saved after two-vehicle crash in Essex

Firefighters were called to a crash in north Essex which left a woman trapped.

The crews were called at around 11.40am to Roundbush Road, Layer Marney, near Tiptree.

Cutting equipment was used to free the casualty who was left with the ambulance service at around 12.45pm.

An ambulance spokesman said: “We took the call at 11.30am to two casualties who had suffered neck and back injuries.

“Both were taken to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment but their condition was not thought to be serious.”
