A procession of vintage tractors is hoping to harvest a healthy cash crop later this month as it winds its way across the Suffolk countryside raising funds for a museum.

The third annual Tractor Run will set off from Leiston Aerodrome on Sunday, May 25 when a variety of vintage vehicles from across the ages will be out in support of the town’s Long Shop Museum.

Judy Geater, who organises the event with her husband, David, and Richard White, is hoping around 30 tractors will join them on the day to match last year’s £300 donation total.

“It’s a great day out bombing along the little roads – we all thoroughly enjoy it and it’s a worthwhile cause,” she said.

Funds raised from the £10 entry fee will go towards refurbishing some of the museum’s historic engines.

This year’s route will travel along the back roads to Dunwich. To take part, email Mrs Geater at jgeater@uwclub.net or turn up on the day.
