Police have launched an investigation after a young woman’s body was found in a house in Leiston today.

Officers were contacted shortly before 1.30pm following concerns for the welfare of a female at the property in Main Street.

A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said: “They forced their way into the house and found the body of a woman in her 20s. The death is currently being treated as unexplained while an investigation is carried out.”

Anyone with information which could help the inquiry should telephone Leiston police station on 101.
