FOUR Leiston men are due to appear before magistrates this afternoon charged with counterfeit currency offences.
Thomas Mower, 20, of St Margarets Crescent, has been charged with having 15 counterfeit £20 notes in his custody or under his control.
Shane Edmed, 19, of Cross Street in Leiston, has been charged with having four counterfeit £20 notes intending to pass or tender it as genuine.
Darren Phillips, 21, of Seaward Avenue in Leiston, is charged with having two counterfeit £20 notes intending to pass or tender it as genuine.
Mark Baker, 21, of Harling Way, has been charged with two counts of using an instrument – namely counterfeit £20 notes – which he knew or believed to be false.
The men will appear at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.
All the charges relate to incidents on February 28 last year.
