Firefighters freed a trapped woman from her car during a two-vehicle crash in a Suffolk village.

It happened in Lower Farm Road, Ringshall, near Stowmarket, at around 8.10am

One fire crew from Hadleigh and another from Princes Street along with the pump rescue team from Stowmarket attended the crash.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle and release the woman.

The East of England Ambulance Service sent an ambulance crew and an ambulance officer.

A spokesman said the woman, aged in her 40s, was assessed at the scene but did not require medical treatment.

The road was closed but reopened at 9.55am.

The crash involved a BMW 320i and a Vauxhall Astra.
