Lowestoft: Man in 60s in hospital with head injuries after car and pedestrian accident

A man in his 60s is in hospital with head injuries following an accident between a pedestrian and a vehicle in north Suffolk.

Emergency services were called to the A1117 Bridge Road in Oulton Broad, close to Lowestoft, at around 2.15pm today.

A pedestrian – a man in his 60s – suffered head injuries “not thought to be serious” in the incident, an East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said.

He was taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston-on-Sea, near Great Yarmouth, for further treatment.

The car involved in the accident was a Toyota Corolla

No other injuries were reported at the scene.

A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman added the man had not suffered life-threatening injuries.

The A1117 Bridge Road in Oulton Broad is closed with delays reported in both directions near the Holly Road junction.
