Police have traced the next of kin of a man who died after a boat overturned off the coast of Lowestoft on Monday, March 10.

The man was initially named as Peter Chambers, however now that documents have been found and police have spoken to friends who formally identified him by the name he was known by, the coroners officer has now determined that his birth name was Peter Sims and family members have been located in the Driffield area of east Yorkshire.

Police have thanked the media in Suffolk and in Yorkshire for their help with the appeal.

Mr Sims was pronounced deceased after he was pulled from the water on Monday afternoon. A post mortem has given his cause of death as drowning and further tests are being carried out.

An inquest into his death will be held in due course.
