A 17-year-old boy has been charged with three counts of robbery and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

The teenager, of no fixed abode, was arrested yesterday morning after two 15-year-old boys were allegedly threatened at knife point and made to hand over their mobile phones in the Broom Road area at around 5pm on Saturday.

He was also interviewed in connection with an incident in the Lowestoft College car park in Rotterdam Road at around 6.30pm on Thursday where another 17-year-old was robbed of his Nokia Lumia mobile phone.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has now been charged with three counts of robbery, one in connection with the incident on Thursday and two following the incident on Saturday.

The charge of possessing an offensive weapon is in connection with both incidents.

He is due to appear before Lowestoft Magistrates’ Court today.
